Mike D'Antoni reportedly on Suns' list if they make a coaching change

The Suns haven't pinned the blame for this disastrous season on head coach Jeff Hornacek just yet. They fired two assistant coaches hoping to shake things up, rather than cutting ties with Hornacek in the middle of what appears to be another wasted season.

But the team hasn't exercised the option on his contract for next season, either.

There's a very real possibility that Phoenix will look to go in another direction once this current campaign is finished, and a report from ESPN's Marc Stein indicates the team might look to a candidate who was responsible for the most successful stretch in the club's recent past.

D'Antoni coached the Suns for five seasons from 2003-2008, and his tenure included two trips to the Western Conference finals, along with four straight years of winning more than 54 games during the regular season. He recently accepted a position with the 76ers to be an associate head coach under Brett Brown, and it's unclear if he'd be interested in revisiting things in Phoenix.

But the fact that the Suns would reportedly consider the move shows just how lost the organization has become.
