Focus on family helped Toronto Raptors land DeMarre Carroll
DeMarre Carroll only needed one meeting to decide where he was going to sign as a free agent this summer. His former team, the Atlanta Hawks didn't even get a meeting. Once he met with the Toronto Raptors (the first team he met with), he made up his mind. According to Mike Ganter of the Toronto Sun, what sold Carroll wasn't necessarily the basketball aspect, but rather the team's focus on his family.
"'Real to me is including my family,' Carroll said. 'Whenever you include someone’s family, that’s pretty real. They came to my house and introduced themselves and had negations not only with myself, but with my family. I felt like that was a big part that sold me.'"
