Jimmie Johnson's No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet failed NASCAR pre-race technical inspection three times before Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway, but was eventually cleared and pushed onto the starting grid.
Reporter Andrew Doud first reported the issue on FOX Sports 1's "NASCAR RaceDay" pre-race show.
The No. 48 team was issued back-to-back written warnings for infractions at Charlotte Motor Speedway last month. The National Motorsports Appeals Panel will hear the No. 48 team's case on Tuesday, June 9 at the NASCAR R&D Center.
