Appeals panel reduces penalty on Camping World Truck Series team
The National Motorsports Appeals Panel on Tuesday reduced a P4 levied against Camping World Truck Series team GMS Racing for infractions found during pre-qualifying inspection at Talladega Superspeedway last month.
The three-member panel reduced the three-race suspension on crew chief Shane Huffman from three races to two, citing a delay in the originally scheduled appeals hearing.
As a result, Huffman will be suspended for the upcoming truck races at Phoenix and Homestead, but his suspension will not carry over to 2016.
The appeals panel upheld the rest of the original penalty, which included a $10,000 fine and six-month probation on Huffman, and a loss of 25 driver and owner points, respectively, for driver Brandon Jones and team owner Maurice Gallagher Jr.
