NASCAR has assessed a P4 level penalty to the No. 33 GMS Racing team of Camping World Truck Series driver Brandon Jones for an infraction discovered during pre-qualifying inspection for last weekend’s truck race Talladega Superspeedway.
As a result of the penalty — which was issued for illegal brackets/supports on Jones’ truck — crew chief Shane Huffman has been fined $10,000, suspended for the next three truck races plus any non-championship races or special events which might occur during that period, and placed on NASCAR probation for a six-month period following the issuance of the penalty.
Jones and team owner Maurice Gallagher Jr. have been docked 25 championship driver points and 25 championship owner points, respectively.
