There are two unwritten rules in motor racing:
1. Don’t take out your teammate
2. Don’t go side-by-side through Eau Rouge/Raidillon.
Unfortunately, Eric Scalvini broke the latter rule and paid the price, flipping over after contact with Juuso-Matti Pajuranta in Friday’s Trofeo Abarth Europe race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
Fortunately, the rollcage on Scalvini’s Fiat held up well and the driver was able to walk out OK.
The race brought out a Safety Car that led the field around until the finish, with Sweden’s Niklas Lilja taking the win.
