Watch as shredder tears through engine blocks

The Hammel 950 DK, otherwise known as the "Red Giant," is a shredder known to tear up not just the usual stuff (wood, pallets, car parts, car bodies), but also engine blocks.

HAMMEL Recyclingtechnik uploaded the above video in January 2012, but it has recently resurfaced to the top of automotive sites and Reddit, and who can blame them — powered by a CAT C18 diesel 710-horsepower motor, this 46-ton machine has the ability to just tear these blocks of metal apart at a speed of just 32 rpm, generating a frightening 440,000 Nm of torque.

And if this doesn’t get the job done for you, check out Hammel’s VB 1500, which delivers 1,000,000 Nm of torque.

Don’t fall in.
