Watch an NHRA Top Fuel launch in 360 degrees

One of the loudest, most powerful and most incredible moments in motor racing is the launch of two NHRA Top Fuel cars down a drag strip.

Within 4 seconds, a Top Fuel car is capable of hitting 330 mph by the time it has travelled 1,000 feet, thanks to their modest weight, aerodynamic design and, of course, 10,000-horsepower engines.

nhra took to YouTube on Monday with an up-close 360-degree view of an NHRA Top Fuel launch, with drivers J.R. Todd and Tony Schumacher making a qualifying pass as the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals at The Strip in Las Vegas.

NHRA will be back in action this weekend from the zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, N.C. for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals.
