The DeltaWing Team has withdrawn from Sunday's race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park after an incident in Friday's second practice.
A fuel line ruptured during the afternoon session, starting a fire that severely damaged the car. The team reported that it needed to return to the team's shop in Braselton, Georgia in order to fix the damage.
Andy Meyrick, the driver of the car at the time of the incident, was uninjured.
"It's disappointing, because we were so quick here," said team manager Tim Keene, "but we've got a new chassis back at the shop so we'll get back on track as quickly as possible."
The DeltaWing Racing Team intend on being back for the Continental Tire Showcase at Road America on Sunday, August 10.
