Piggy-back ride in motor race sends two cars hard into wall

Overshadowed by wild rides last weekend such as a driver being tossed airborne at the Red Bull Ring, a rally car starting a minor forest fire, a car flipping off of some rumble strips, and an historic race car being dropped by a crane in Monaco, was a piggy-back ride at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
In soaking wet conditions, Lotus driver Roy Nissany slows down in Eau Rouge during the third round of the Formula V8 3.5 Series, causing Johnny Cecotto Jr. to crash into the back of him.
Cecotto’s RP Motorsport car then gets to go on a piggy-back ride as the two cars slide through the runoff area. Fortunately, the two separated before hitting the tire barriers.
It wasn’t just the two drivers who were lucky to be OK, however, as soon after the wreck a marshal runs across the racetrack to retrieve debris while cars are still approaching at a high rate of speed on the wet track.
