
NHRA driver escapes fire during Pro Mod qualifying

Don Stevenson was able to exit his Chevrolet after a fire during the first qualifying session of the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series this weekend at Gainesville Speedway in Gainesville, Florida.
Stevenson was able to get out under his own power, though he was then transported to a local hospital for observation.
NHRA qualifying action of the Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle divisions will air at 6:30 p.m. ET Saturday night on FS1. Racing action airs from 1-4 p.m. ET Sunday on FS1.
