Lamborghini Aventador S features new Ego mode
In a day and age when most manufacturers are bragging about their cars’ Eco modes, Lamborghini has brought along a new Ego mode on the Aventador S.
Now don’t get us wrong, the Aventador S still features start/stop technology as well as improved aerodynamics that will help it conserve gas, but when we’re talking about a V-12 powered supercar pushing out 740 horsepower, we’re not sure that MPG is the model’s primary concern.
Like the Avendator S’s predecessor, the car is powered by a 6.5-liter engine, but it does see an increase in 40 horsepower as well as 130 percent more downforce than the standard Aventador.
Additionally, the vehicle now features the aforementioned extra driving mode named Ego, to go along with the Strada, Sport and Corsa driving modes. The Ego mode allows the driver to customize the vehicle’s settings, of which there are many to choose from.

The rear wing can go back and forth from three different positions, while redeveloped suspension and electronics systems give the driver more tools to play with. From the cockpit, the driver will be treated to a TFT digital dash and Apple CarPlay, which comes standard.
Putting all of this power to the road are four Pirelli-developed P Zero tires, designed specifically for the Aventador S.
On the subject of tires, for the first time on a production Lamborghini, the Aventador S features a four-wheel steering system that has the rear wheels turn with the fronts at higher speeds for stability, but then has the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction as the fronts for a decreased turning radius at lower speeds.
The car is capable of 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of around 217 mph. Carbon ceramic brakes come standard to help bring it to a halt.
The Lamborghini Aventador S will start at $421,350 and is set to hit showrooms in Spring 2017.
