James Stewart has been provisionally suspended by the governing body of Supercross for a failed drug test, but will be allowed to finish the outdoor season.
Stewart tested positive for a banned substance after a Supercross race in Seattle on April 12, which he said was from an amphetamine prescribed by a doctor for a long-term medical condition.
FIM, the sport's governing body, hit him with a provisional suspension since the Supercross season ended in May and the next season doesn't begin until January.

The suspension was not carried over to the outdoor season because the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is governed by a different organization, and has no affiliation with FIM or the World Anti-Doping Agency.
