F1 championship leader Lewis Hamilton goes blonde 'because I can'
Lewis Hamilton has provided some light relief in Monza by arriving with dyed blonde hair, although he did his best to keep it hidden under his Mercedes cap.
The World Champion suggested that it was just a temporary solution, and suggested that it reflects his current outlook on life.
“With my hair, it's because I can, and just because I wanted to experience something new,” he said. “I'm very much in an experimental phase of my life right now, I'm experimenting with lots of things. It's short term at the moment, I don't know what color I’ll do it next.”
Nico Rosberg joined in the fun by telling the media that Lewis used to tease him about his hair color in their karting days, although Hamilton didn't remember it that way.
“I'm pretty sure I never made fun of his hair,” he said. “If I was to ever say anything, it was because he had really long 'curtains,' and he would put his hair back like a girl - like a lady would pull her hair back, he would do that. So I would be like, 'Dude, you need to make it shorter!'”
Meanwhile Kimi Raikkonen was asked if it was true that blondes have more fun.
“I don't know, you should ask him afterwards,” said the Finn. “No real comments on that...”
