BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) Brandon Jones won the ARCA Racing Series race Friday at Michigan International Speedway, taking advantage of Kyle Weatherman's unsuccessful fuel gamble.

Jones, from Atlanta, took the lead in the No. 8 Ranier Racing with MDM Chevrolet when Weatherman's No. 58 Ford ran dry with four laps left, and went on to beat Chase Briscoe by more than 6 seconds.

''I really wasn't too worried about the 58,'' said Jones, a three-time winner in his ARCA career. ''I really didn't know their game plan or what fuel cycle they were on, but I was definitely confident in our game plan. We had an awesome Menards-Valvoline Chevy all week.''

Briscoe padded his season points lead.

''Great points day,'' Briscoe said. ''Obviously, you want to win, but big picture-wise we're in a good place. Hopefully, we can take what we learned today and use it to our advantage at the next one. This is our best finish so far, but we want to win one for sure.''

Kyle Benjamin was third, followed by Travis Braden, Matt Tifft, Brady Boswell, A.J. Fike, Matt Kurzejewski, Dalton Sargeant and Shane Lee. Weatherman ended up 12th in the 100-lap race on the two-mile oval.

''We knew we were way tight on fuel, but gambled it anyway,'' Weatherman said. ''That's what you have to do sometimes to win. I'm really proud of all our guys.
