Spanish MotoGP rider Hector Barbera has been arrested after allegedly abusing his girlfriend, according to Spanish news reports.
Europa Press news agency says Barbera was taken into custody by police and charged on Friday after allegedly beating his girlfriend in a hotel during last weekend's Spain Grand Prix in the southern city of Jerez.
The report says the hospital where his girlfriend was taken reported the incident to the police.
Barbera rides for Avintia Blusens team. The 26-year-old pilot debuted in MotoGP in 2010.
