Another freak accident at the Red Bull Ring; all drivers OK

The Red Bull Ring has seen its fair share of major incidents since racing returned to the circuit in 2011.

Just this year we’ve seen Michael Schumacher’s son broke his hand at the circuit, two cars go airborne across the finish line during a GT4 European Series race, Roberto Merhi trigger a crash after slowing a coast at the finish line of a Formula Renault 3.5 race, and Fernando Alonso land on top of Kimi Raikkonen’s car after a crash on the opening lap of the Austrian Grand Prix.

Another terrifying crash took place at the 2.7-mile circuit in Spielberg, Austria on Sunday morning when, on Lap 4 of Race 2 of the Audi TT Cup race, six cars piled-up in the wet conditions in the long run towards Turn 2. Fortunately all of the drivers were OK but the race was not restarted.
