A look at the 2015-2016 Formula E calendar

Along with the 2016 Formula One schedule, the FIA WMSC released the 2015-2016 FIA Formula E series schedule following a meeting in Mexico City on Friday.
Like the 2014-2015 season, there will be 11 rounds - again concluding with a doubleheader in London on a weekend TBD. The season will have a later start than last time around, kicking off on the streets of Beijing on Oct. 17. Three rounds will be held before the end of 2015 and at least nine rounds will be held on circuits the series has been to before.
The differences with regards to circuits on the schedule are that Miami and Monaco are missing - although the March 19 race slot remains open, hopefully for another American city to join Long Beach in hosting an ePrix in the States. However, Monaco for certain won’t be on the schedule as the date conflicts with the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, which takes place on each even-numbered year.
To make up for that, the FIA Formula E Championship will instead be heading to the streets of Paris for the first time on April 23, 2016.
“We are pleased to confirm that the second season will again feature 11 ePrix,” Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, told FIAFormulaE.com. “It’s an important sign of stability and it consolidates the presence of the Championship in the panoply of major global motorsport events run under the aegis of the FIA.”
“Over the past few months, we have received many indications of interest from numerous cities from all over the world, which is another confirmation of the extraordinary reception that Formula E has received all over the world during its first season,” added Agag. “We have chosen to keep the number of races the same, with the aim of planting even more solid roots in the cities which trusted in us right from the start. We have added one of the world’s most important capitals and an amazing city, Paris, which will be one of the highlights of the season. As for the location of the fifth round, the one on 19th March, we are working to maintain the same geographic allocation of races: the aim is to have a fourth ePrix on the American continent. The first season only ended a short time ago in the fantastic setting of Battersea Park in London and already we cannot wait to get the new season underway with FIA, the teams and our partners.”
