The New York Red Bulls have signed their second homegrown player, putting teenage forward Juan Agudelo under contract.
The 17-year-old from Barnegat has played for Red Bull Academy since 2007. A Colombian native, he played for the U.S. at the Under-17 World Cup and while with the U.S. Under-20 team scored against Brazil in a 1-1 tie at the Copa Chivas in Guadalajara, Mexico.
MLS clubs receive two additional roster slots that may be used to sign academy players. These players do not count toward the 24-player roster limit.
