Real Salt Lake 3-0 D.C. United
Alvaro Saborio, Robbie Findley and Nelson Gonzalez scored to lead Real Salt Lake to a 3-0 victory over D.C. United on Saturday night, extending its franchise-record unbeaten home streak to 20 games.
The defending champions are just two games away from the Major League Soccer record, set by the Columbus Crew last year. The victory also was the fifth in a row at home for Salt Lake (10-4-4) over United, now winless in its last six games.
Midfielder Branko Boskovic made his first start since joining United (3-12-3) as a designated player whose salary can exceed the team cap, but the lowest-scoring team in the league still failed to score for the fourth time in its winless streak.
United has scored only 12 goals this season, while Salt Lake has a league-best 32 goals.
Saborio scored his eighth goal of the season - all at home - in the 14th minute, while Findley added his fourth goal of the season in the 79th minute. Three of Findley's goals have come in the five games since he returned from playing for the United States in the World Cup in South Africa.
Gonzalez scored in added time, just a few minutes after entering his first game since May 22 because of a hamstring injury.
