The Los Angeles Galaxy has signed veteran defender Frankie Hejduk to a one-year contract.
The Galaxy announced the deal Thursday night.
Los Angeles acquired the two-time World Cup participant in a trade this month with Kansas City, which acquired Hejduk during the MLS re-entry draft.
The 36-year-old Hejduk spent the past eight seasons with Columbus, serving as the Crew's captain for the past five years and winning the MLS Cup in 2007. The veteran of MLS' inaugural season has 12 goals and 25 assists in 197 career regular-season games.
