LA Galaxy are expected to hold a Thursday press conference to confirm the re-signing of David Beckham, club sources have confirmed to SoccerByIves.net's Adam Serrano.

The signing will bring the 36-year-old midfielder back to Los Angeles for a sixth season, ending speculation that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star would leave Major League Soccer.

In line to represent Great Britain at this summer's London Olympics, Beckham is currently out of contract with MLS. He was expected to move to France's Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of the month; however, on Jan. 3 PSG officials announced they would not sign Beckham, saying the Galaxy star indicated a preference to stay in Los Angeles, where he makes his home with his wife Victoria and four children.

Beckham just completed a five-year deal signed with Major League Soccer in 2007, capping his contract with a MLS Cup title in November as LA Galaxy defeated the Houston Dynamo 1-0 at MLS Cup. During those five seasons, Beckham accumulated 11 goals and 31 assists in 72 league games.

In 2011, Beckham had his strongest season since moving to the United States, registering two goals and 15 assists while leading the Galaxy to a second consecutive Supporter's Shield, awarded to the team that finishes with the best regular season record.
