Royals Rumors: Nationals And Cubs In Bidding War For Wade Davis

The Royals are close to pulling the trigger on a Wade Davis trade, with both the Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals making a strong push to acquire the Kansas City closer.
Just after Kansas City Royals general manger Dayton Moore commented that the team wasn’t close to a deal, the rumor mill started to heat up.
The first shot came from Yahoo.com’s Jeff Passan:

Whatever the case, if the above reports are true, then Moore is getting exactly what he wants. The Nationals and Cubs are in a bidding war for Wade Davis. That result can only be good for the Kansas City Royals.
The rumor that the Cubs were concerned about Davis’ physical sounds like more rumor-mongering to bring down the price. Meanwhile, the Nats rumor could have come from Kansas City as a response. Or, the Nationals could very well be in the mix.
Whatever the truth might be, it does appear that a Wade Davis trade is coming soon.
