Josh Donaldson's new hairdo for Opening Day is... well, it's new
In addition to being the American League MVP, Josh Donaldson was a guest star on the History Channel's "Vikings" last season. And for that guest role, Donaldson sported an appropriately "viking" haircut, which was really just an obscenely long undercut. According to trend reports that I definitely don't read, the next logical step would've been a manbun.
The subsequent step-- that not everyone is doing, but that enough people are doing for it to be a thing-- is braids. Men of color have been doing it forever, women of color forever and a day; but only recently did it become a trend amongst white dudes and not just an ill-advised thing that David Beckham did when it was hot out. Thus, this 'do Donaldson was flashing on Opening Day.

We really should've seen this coming, given the fact that ESPN's Hannah Storm taught him how to braid his hair last March.
