Demi Lovato replaces Ariana Grande at All-Star Game concert

It’s always tough to be the bearer of bad news, so let’s allow the following blockquote courtesy of Hardball Talk explain why Ariana Grande is being replaced by fellow pop songstress Demi Lovato as a featured performer during a concert at Paul Brown Stadium as part of the celebration leading up to the 2015 MLB All-Star Game next week at the Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ball Park.

HBT’s Craig Calcaterra adds that Grande’s supposed health issues stem from having her wisdom teeth removed, a report containing words that he probably never envisioned himself ever writing.

In the end, it’s more or less a tit-for-tat exchange of headlining performers. Let’s be honest, it’s not like a majority of folks attending the All-Star Game — or any of the assorted festivities surrounding the main event — would be able to differentiate between the two popsters.

And who knew Major League Baseball was so determined to court the tween-to-teenage girl market? Odds are slim that there will be a bevy of hardcore baseball fans in that audience … or adult men (or women?), for that matter. In other words, it will be an utter shriek-fest.

For conspiracy theorists, though, TMZ has dropped a bomb speculating to a far more heinous reason for Grande abruptly pulling out of the concert. Or, perhaps better put, why Major League Baseball may have in fact dropped her from the show: Inflammatory comments she made on the Fourth of July about hating America.

TMZ obtained video of Grande railing against the United States after witnessing a giant tray of donuts being brought out at a bakery. “What the **** is that? I hate Americans,” Grande says. “I hate America.”

Grande later allegedly expressed regret over her comments but her people insist her withdrawal from the All-Star concert is due to wisdom teeth and wisdom teeth only.

Who knows what to believe in these crazy times.
