Rory McIlroy appears to be adjusting to his new TaylorMade clubs just fine in China at the WGC-HSBC Champions. After Nike discontinued their production of golf equipment, McIlroy put a TaylorMade driver and fairway woods in his bag this weekend - and on Thursday he hit a majestic tee shot at Sheshan International's 288-yard par-4 16th hole.
McIlroy left himself under 10 feet for eagle, but would miss his putt and settle for birdie. He carded a 1-under par round of 71 on Thursday and is seven shots back of 18-hole leader Rikard Karlberg.
