Samuel L. Jackson is no stranger on the golf course. He frequently shows up in celebrity tournaments such as the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and appears in promotions involving golf such as, "Play Golf, America!"

So it's no surprise that he's an avid golfer. What might be surprising is one way the iconic actor helps keep his game in shape: CNN is reporting that Jackson has it written into his movie contracts that he gets time for the links.

"They have to let me play at least twice a week," Jackson told the cable-news channel. "Generally they either move me onto a golf course or I join a club so I can play there."

That should keep Jackson's game in shape. But who does Jackson respect more than any other on the celebrity golf circuit? That would be musician Kenny G, he told TMZ in April — with a laugh, though the answer makes sense, considering the musician's success on the green. After all, Jackson takes the game seriously.

"To be frank, I am as passionate about golf as I am about acting," he's quoted as saying on his page at the Internet Movie Database.

Jackson has been featured in 149 movies since 1972. He's co-starring in the upcoming Spike Lee movie OldBoy — which by the looks of it probably required a few golf breaks to keep the sanity.
