One Direction's Niall Horan shows off his swing at Irish Open Pro-Am

One Direction star Niall Horan is taking his fame in another direction during the band's current hiatus. The Irish native is pursuing his interest in golf by creating a golf management company while also hanging around with some of his favorite pro golfers on the tour.

That list of mates includes Rory McIlroy, who invited Horan to play in Wednesday's Pro-Am ahead of the Irish Open this week. Horan and McIlroy's friendship has become well-known in the golfing world, especially after Horan famously caddied for McIlroy at the Par-3 at the Masters in 2015.

Horan talked about his friendship with McIlroy in a brief interview Wednesday.

Maybe those tips do help. The singer looks like a decent golf player based off his first tee shot at the Irish Open Pro-Am.

But McIlroy is not the only golfer vying for Horan's attention. British golfer Justin Rose will hold a golf and gala dinner event with Horan during the last weekend in May to raise money for Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens.
