The news keeps getting worse for Tiger Woods. Injured and coming off of one of the worst performances of his pro career, Woods officially fell out of the top 10 in the World Golf Ranking for the first time since the week before the 1997 Masters.

In the latest rankings released late Sunday, Woods sank from No. 8 to No. 12. In his last tournament, The Players Championship earlier this month, he withdrew due to injury after a front-nine 42 in the opening round.

Steve Stricker dropped a spot to replace Woods at 8. The top six spots in the rankings were unchanged from the previous week. Luke Donald, who lost to Ian Poulter in Sunday's final of the World Match Play Championship in Spain, remains in second place, though he closed to within a razor-thin five-hundredths of a point of No. 1 Lee Westwood.

Two major movers were Masters champ Charl Schwartzel, who improved from No. 12 to No. 7, and Poulter, who rose to 14th from 22nd after keeping Donald out of the top spot.
