Two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer has had thumb surgery because of a biking accident and will be out about two months. He will miss the Masters for the first time since 1983.
Langer has missed the cut the last five times at Augusta National. He won his first green jacket in 1985, and won the Masters again in 1993. The German was the first player to be No. 1 when the world ranking debuted at Augusta National in 1986.
Langer already has won once on the Champions Tour this year.
