Jimmy Mullen is the only amateur inside the cut at the Open Championship, but he hasn’t started his second round yet.

The 19-year-old Mullen of East-the-Water, England, shot an even-par 71 in Thursday’s opening round. He doesn’t tee off until 3:51 p.m. local time, and is four shots inside the cut-line as of now.

Not too long ago, ESPN’s Mike Tirico said he thought the cut-line would move to 6 over when it’s all said and done.

As for other amateurs, 2013 British Amateur champion Garrick Porteous shot 5-over 76, and will start his day one-shot outside the current cut-line.

Incoming Northwestern freshman Matthew Fitzpatrick was at 2 over to start his day, but shot a second-round 76 and sits at 7 over for the tournament.

Kentucky senior Ben Stow is at 8 over for the championship after being 5 over through seven holes on Friday.

The other four amateurs take up four of the last five spots on the leaderboard. There sits U.S. Amateur champion Steven Fox (78-79), who will miss his ninth consecutive PGA Tour/major championship cut. San Diego Grant Forrest (73-86) and East Tennessee State junior and the 2012 European Amateur champion Rhys Pugh (84-77) are 152nd and 153rd on the leaderboard, respectively.
