First round ends after delay at AT&T

Mark Calcavecchia remained the leader after the weather-delayed first round of the AT&T Championship finished on Saturday.

His 5-under 67 on Friday held up for a three-stroke lead, though Calcavecchia and others began the second round while others finished the first. He was 1 over through eight holes, and Tom Kite and Kenny Perry made up a stroke with even par front nines.

The tournament was delayed by more than three hours on Friday when a heavy rainstorm with high wind and lightning rolled over the TPC San Antonio Canyons Course.

There is ample sunshine for the second round, though the cooler weather took its toll on Saturday. John Cook, a two-time winner of this Champions Tour event and a third-place finisher from last year, withdrew because of back pains after completing his first round in the morning.
