
Britain and Ireland takes 10-6 lead in Walker Cup

LYTHAM ST ANNES, England — Britain and Ireland won the foursomes 3-1 for the second straight day in the Walker Cup to take a 10-6 lead over the United States on Sunday ahead of the afternoon singles.
The hosts resumed the day with a 7-5 lead as Britain and Ireland bid to reclaim the trophy on the links of Royal Lytham and St Annes.
English pair Ashley Chesters and Jimmy Mullen claimed their second foursomes win in the biennial amateur event, fighting back after losing the first two holes to beat Beau Hossler and Denny McCarthy 3 and 2 in northwest England.
