Alvester Alexander rushed for a school-record five touchdowns as Wyoming beat Colorado State 44-0 in the Border War rivalry game on Saturday.

Wyoming (3-9, 1-7 Mountain West) snapped a six-game losing streak.

Alexander, who ran for 147 yards on 23 carries, had an 8-yard run for the record-setting score late in the fourth quarter. He brushed off Colorado State defenders for a 21-yard score early in the third quarter, then added a 29-yard TD less than five minutes later to give the Cowboys a 37-0 lead.

The Rams (3-9, 2-6) were held to 162 yards of offense. Wyoming defensive end Josh Biezuns had 3 1/2 sacks.

The Cowboys led 23-0 at halftime thanks to two Alexander touchdowns, a TD run by quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels and a field goal.

Carta-Samuels was 23 of 32 passing for 267 yards.
