Wisconsin cornerback Devin Smith is done for the season after having surgery on his left foot.
The seventh-ranked Badgers announced the news Tuesday. Smith, a senior, will apply for a medical redshirt in hopes of playing for Wisconsin in 2012.
Smith was injured during the first quarter of the Badgers' 35-0 win over Oregon State on Saturday.
Wisconsin (2-0) plays Northern Illinois (1-1) in Chicago on Saturday.
