Arizona State starter Armand Perry is injured, so Kareem Orr took first-team defensive reps at free safety this week.
According to AZCentral.com, Orr was one of two true freshmen who played in ASU's nickel package. Perry suffered a high-ankle sprain vs. Cal Poly, listed "doubtful" vs. New Mexico. Orr had practiced at corner back, but played safety in high school.
The former Louisville-commit may start on Friday.
