Wagner honors football coach Hameline

Wagner College will name its football field after coach Walt Hameline who is entering his 32nd season at the school.
The ceremony will take place on Sept. 15 before the game against Monmouth, the school announced Thursday.
Hameline, who has also served as athletic director for his entire tenure, enters the season with a 204-123-2 (.622) record. He led the Seahawks to the Division III national championship in 1987 and was selected national coach of the year.
He ranks 16th all-time among FCS coaches and is 18th among all active NCAA coaches.
