Vernon Adams already fitting in with new teammates
Despite the fact that Vernon Adams will not join the Oregon Ducks until June 14, he is already fitting in well with his new teammates.
Adams, who committed to Oregon early this year, will transfer in from Eastern Washington where he was one of the best players at the FCS level. In fact, Adams twice led his Eastern Washington teams into battle against Pac-12 opponents and succeeded wildly in both games. In those two games, against Washington and Oregon State, Adams threw for 11 touchdowns and ran for two more.
Yes, two games is a small sample size and playing week-in and week-out against Pac-12 competition is a whole different beast. That being said, Adams should be Oregon's best QB option next year and his new teammates are looking forward to his arrival.
Wide receiver Dwayne Stanford had this to say about Adams:
"He's a good dude, it was just different because usually guys on unofficial visits are younger guys," Stanford said, according to Andrew Greif of The Oregonian. "But he was our age, so it was a lot better. We just clicked automatically because he has already been in college and that type of stuff."
Adams has already been embraced by his new teammates. Look for his new guys to embrace him even further once they get on the same field together in June.
