Towson has strong 2nd half, beats Rhode Island 38-21

TOWSON, Md. (AP) Darius Victor rushed for 189 yards on 33 carries and scored two touchdowns as Towson closed out the season with a 38-21 win over Rhode Island on Saturday.

Heath Dahlgren threw for 106 yards and two scores. Mike Kelly grabbed two interceptions, returning them for a total of 48 yards for Towson (7-4, 5-3 Colonial Athletic Association).

Wesley McKoy, who threw for 207 yards, kept Rhode Island (1-10, 1-7) in the game, throwing a 30-yard scoring strike to Khayri Denny in the first, passing to Phadrae White from the 9 for another score and rushing from the 1 with 8:23 left in the second quarter for a 21-14 lead.

Towson scored 17 unanswered points in the second half. Dahlgreen hit Emmanuel Holder on a 13-yard scoring strike and later found Andre Dessenberg from the 4 for a 35-21 lead going into the fourth.
