TCU head coach Gary Patterson has curious preseason superstition

Gary Patterson likes to take pictures of wildlife. Animal pictures are all over his Twitter feed. Check it out here.

Apparently, the TCU coach likes winning seasons, too.

Who knew the two were combined?

According to USA Today Sports, Patterson and his wife have twice gone to Africa to look at and take pictures of animals. And after each of the trips, Patterson has led TCU to successful seasons, including last year when TCU went 12-1 and beat Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl.

Patterson went once again this year, this time going to the Lembobo region of Southern Africa.

"I always went in March," Patterson told USA Today. "It was May and we hadn't gone yet. It's the most expensive superstition I've ever been part of."
