TCU coach on star WR Doctson: 'He's fine and is ready to play'

Contrary to Thursday morning reports that TCU's Josh Doctson was to be out for the season because of injury, head coach Gary Patterson told FOX Sports that his star WR has been practicing and is fine to return to the lineup in the Horned Frogs' next game against Kansas (noon ET Saturday, FS1).

"He's fine and is ready to play," Patterson said early Thursday afternoon. "He's practiced the last two days."

Regarding the confusion as to Doctson's status, Patterson said he thinks his comments from earlier in the day on a radio show were misinterpreted.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Doctson -- who hurt his left wrist and hand last week -- is having an All-American season for TCU. He has 78 catches for 1,315 yards and 14 TDs -- all school records.
