Syracuse Football: Open letter to the Syracuse Orange
The Syracuse football season isn’t going how the fans thought it would. Now one fan has written a final letter to the Seniors who played their last home game.
So I normally write an article breaking down the game, to criticize Dino Babers or make some outlandish prediction. Today I will not do any of these things. I have written before how I am a ‘new’ Syracuse fan.
A season ticket holder since I moved to Central New York, a fan that watches every minute of

every game. Yes indeed I bleed Orange. So I have written articles or “letters” specifically addressed to the student body regarding their abysmal attendance at Syracuse football games.
I have attempted to understand the ‘whys’ behind it. From quality, weather, cost, facility and legacy I still frankly don’t understand. This season should have yielded one of the highest attendance averages in SU history.
But alas this was not the case. The season ended with the second lowest attendance in the history of Syracuse football. The final average attendance for this year was 32,805. And as I stated previously those numbers are generous.
All that being said the real purpose of this article is to thank those eighteen seniors that played their last game yesterday.
From the Senior grad-transfer Amba Etta-Tawo, exciting playmakers: Brisly Estime and Jason Emerich. Eric Anthony, Jon Burton, Alviin Cornelius, Terell Drayton, Marqez Hodge, Hernz Laguerre, Michael Lasker, Cameron MacPherson, Wayne Morgan, George Morris, Omari Palmer, Josh Parris, Ted Taylor, Austin Wilson and De’Jon Wilson. All of these seniors who have given their time, sweat and blood for years I just wanted to say I am sorry you were not better supported by your fan base; and Thank You.
