Stoudermire granted medical hardship waiver
Minnesota defensive back Troy Stoudermire has been granted a medical hardship waiver by the NCAA that will allow him to return for a fifth season with the Golden Gophers.
The school made the announcement Friday.
Stoudermire started the first four games last season before going down with a broken forearm. He had two interceptions in the four games and will return as the Big Ten's career leader in kickoff return yards.
Stoudermire released a statement through the school saying he was excited to hear the news and is looking forward to rejoining the team for workouts.
Head coach Jerry Kill called the development ''great news'' and says he is happy to know Stoudermire will be back.
