South Carolina commitment Edwards suffers major knee injury
South Carolina received a bit of bad news on the recruiting trail this past Friday.
Commitment Bryan Edwards suffered a non-contact knee injury during his most recent high school game. The injury is serious enough to the point where not only will he miss the remainder of his season, but Edwards will also be unable to participate in both the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
The receiver out of Conway High School in South Carolina is a 4-star Rivals.com recruit. He originally opted to stay close to home over offers from Cal, Clemson, Duke, Florida, and Georgia.
On the year, Edwards has caught 53 passes for 969 yards and nine touchdowns. He's slated to be an early enrollee at South Carolina. This will allow for him to continue his rehabilitation and conditioning at the university.
