Smallwood status uncertain heading into WVU's game at No. 2 Baylor

The West Virginia offense hasn't exactly been potent in its last two games, at least not compared to its sizzling start. Losing one of the best playmakers on the team will do nothing to help the cause.

Wendell Smallwood, the Mountaineers' leading rusher, is uncertain to play heading into the team's clash with No. 2 Baylor on Saturday.

“He's still banged up. He didn't practice last week,” Holgorsen said. “He's going to do what he can do.”

Head coach Dana Holgorsen called Smallwood the team's 'best offensive player' in the same news conference, so if he can't go against the Bears, the 'Eers could have an awfully tough time keeping up with Art Briles' offense.
