Robinson sends paperwork to NFL

He may have filed paperwork to the NFL Draft Advisory Board, but Michigan junior quarterback Denard Robinson expects to return to Ann Arbor for his senior year.

"Oh yeah, I expect to be back," Robinson said during a news conference Friday. "That's it."

Robinson -- in a common move for college juniors -- is testing the NFL draft waters, but the process isn't binding and it's expected he'll be a Wolverine again next season, AnnArbor.com reported.

"It was a decision that I was just like, I put my name out there [to] see what happens," Robinson said. "And whatever happens, happens."

The comments came as Robinson and his side, 10-2 for the year, prepared in New Orleans for their Sugar Bowl clash Tuesday night with Virginia Tech (11-2).

Michigan defensive coordinator Al Borges told the Detroit Free Press that Robinson was unquestionably a valuable player for the team.

"Denard, it doesn't matter who is playing against him, presents some problems," Borges said.

"If Denard's throwing the ball well, which he's been doing of late, then he really adds a new, a whole different dimension to having to defend him. Because with opportunities, he's going to run the ball well. He can do that."
