Report: Vols freshman QB named in connection to assault and theft
Despite new faces on campus, Tennessee Volunteers football players cannot seem to stay out of the news for the wrong reasons. The latest allegation involve four-star early enrollee freshman quarterback Jauan Jennings.
According to WGNS News Radio, Jennings has been named in connection to an assault at a graduation party, including damaging a car and taking valuables from inside the vehicle.
The story quotes University of Tennessee Media Relations employee Jason Yellin: "we are aware of the alleged incident and are awaiting further facts from a fact finding body."
A Murfreesboro, Tennessee native, Jennings was named Class AAA Mr. Football in the state of Tennessee last season at Blackmon High School.
Jennings is the third Tennessee player allegedly involved in activity that involves police intervention since the beginning of spring practice. Offensive lineman Coleman Thomas, who has since returned to the team after his charges were dropped, and receiver Von Pearson are the other two players that have run into legal issues.
The University of Tennessee nor the football program have released a statement at this time.
