Report: Tennessee suspends freshman Joc Bruce

While fall camp has yet to even begin in Knoxville, the Volunteers are expecting big things this season on the football field and a lack of effort leading up to the season is sure to negatively affect the young team.
News broke Tuesday that Tennessee has suspended freshman Joc Bruce, a local recruit from nearby South Doyle high school in Knoxville:
It's hard to imagine a player seemingly living out his dream of playing for the hometown team being suspended after only just arriving to campus this summer. Give credit to the coaching staff for setting the tone for the rest of the young roster and showing that half measured efforts won't be tolerated in Knoxville any longer. With the heightened expectations comes more responsibility for each individual on the team and on the coaching staff.
No word on how long the suspension will be, but expect the freshman to be given an opportunity to work himself back into the good graces of his coaches. After all, Bruce blueshirted last February, which allowed the Vols to accept another recruit ahead of him on signing day as the team promised to hold a scholarship for Bruce to be claimed in the summer.
