Report: Redskins give Takoby Cofield a massive signing bonus for a UDFA

The Washington Redskins picked up former Duke offensive lineman Takoby Cofield as an unselected signee after the draft, and they've reportedly paid him an awful lot for a player who wasn't worth a pick. A source informed Aaron Wilson of NFPost.com that Cofield received a $25,000 signing bonus, the richest among all undrafted players.

Cofield started 42 consecutive games for the Blue Devils at left tackle. Although he was a reliable peg in Duke's protection and an All-ACC standout (third team), Cofield likely lacks the athleticism to cut it as a starting blind-side blocker in the NFL.

Still, the hefty signing bonus indicates that Cofield may have a future in the league.
