Report: Parker not concerned with who drafts him; 'just wants to play football'
Former Louisville star wide receiver DeVante Parker is not getting wrapped up in the speculation of where he will be playing football next season, he’s just happy to get the opportunity to play on Sunday’s, according to an article written in the Courier-Journal.
"He just loves the game," said Parker’s grandfather, Willie Parker, to the Courier-Journal. "That's what a lot of people don't understand. A lot of people talk about (where they want to be picked); he doesn't. He just wants to play football. If he could go ahead and be drafted and play with a team, he'd be happy."
Willie Parker continued to say that his grandson had NFL thoughts after the 2013 season, but stiff-armed them to return to Louisville and score his degree.
"(The NFL) is not going anywhere. If it's meant to be, it's going to be,” Willie Parker said. "He was taking a chance on getting hurt, and, hell, he did get hurt, but he came back super strong. I tell him all the time, 'Keep the faith. The Lord will take care of you.'"
